For this assignment, I chose this as my most successful image. I used the rule of thirds technique and had my subject stay on the left side of the image instead of being on the center, similar Cho Gi Seok's image. Additionally, both images use the surrounding to create a shadow on the subject. It adds movement and draws the viewer to the person in the image. One challenge I ran into was ensuring that my camera made the person my focal point. Since I had a lot of branches in the way, it was difficult to make sure it wasn't distracting from the subject's face. For the future, I want to explore more with different colors and switching up the angles of the images. I also want work on enhancing the image by editing photograph. This could easily change the mood/emotion portrayed in the image.
Hi Kari, I love the image you took! The shoadows are beutiful and I love the surrounding area. I think you did an amazing job emulating the photographer you chose! Amazing!
comment to other student's work: Hi Jenna, I think this is a great black and white image. I was really drawn to the contrast between the bright lights and plants on the top portion and darker silhouettes of the people in the background. You did a great job with capturing the similar element of the professional photographer. Both images use different techniques to create depth to the image
